3 ANCIENT PALACE: The residence Scalon del Doge is located in an ancient palace where the Doges’ families once lived. Campiello del Remer, a small typical venetian square with its ancient well (the traditional name is “vera da pozzo”) was once the location of an ancient workshop where the oars for the gondolas were produced. You will enter our residence directly from an amazing staircase which dates back to the XIII century. This is our symbol and our residence is named after this ancient staircase. “Scalon del doge” means the Doge’s staircase. You will be fascinated by the atmosphere of this place, its mysteries and legends!
